CVE-2023-21105

Cross-user media disclosure via unowned URI preview

Published Jun 15, 2023 · Updated Dec 18, 2024

Information disclosure in Android 11, 12, 12L, and 13 allows local users to read another user’s media through the system sharesheet. ChooserActivity preview paths load shared content URIs without first confirming that the initiating user owns the referenced media. A low-privileged local user can trigger the cross-user read without additional execution privileges or user interaction, exposing media belonging to another user profile.
