Local information disclosure via unchecked RSSI bounds
Published Mar 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Android 13 Bluetooth allows attackers with System privileges to disclose Bluetooth server memory. The btm_read_rssi_complete function in btm_acl.cc handles a received RSSI completion event without checking its bounds before reading it. Exploitation requires System-level execution and Bluetooth adjacency, needs no user interaction, and affects confidentiality without reported integrity or availability impact.
