Local information disclosure via Bluetooth bounds read
Published Mar 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Android 13's Bluetooth System component allows local users to disclose process memory through malformed feature data. btm_ble_read_remote_features_complete in btm_ble_gap.cc fails to validate the event length before reading the remote-feature fields. Exploitation requires compromised firmware executing with System privileges, needs no user interaction, and is limited to information disclosure.
