Local information disclosure via unchecked resolving-list index
Published Mar 24, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Android 13 Bluetooth privacy code allows local users with System privileges to disclose process memory without interaction. The btm_ble_add_resolving_list_entry_complete function in btm_ble_privacy.cc uses a resolving-list result without first checking that its index is within bounds. Exploitation requires local System execution privileges and exposes memory to the caller; it does not provide code execution or data modification.
