CVE-2023-20949

Local information disclosure via PMIC probe over-read

Published Feb 15, 2023 · Updated Mar 19, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in Android's kernel regulator component allows local users to disclose memory through the s2mpg11 PMIC probe. The s2mpg11_pmic_probe function in s2mpg11-regulator.c reads beyond a heap buffer while probing the regulator, exposing adjacent kernel memory. Exploitation requires local low-privileged execution on an affected Pixel device, needs no user interaction, and is limited to information disclosure.
