CVE-2023-20885Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via audited binary arguments

Published Jun 16, 2023 · Updated Dec 16, 2024

Credential exposure in Cloud Foundry Notifications before 63 and affected SMB and NFS releases lets remote authenticated users read credentials. Affected lifecycle workflows pass admin or service credentials as binary arguments while accessing the filesystem, and enabled kernel auditing records those arguments. A malicious platform user who can read the resulting audit records can reuse the exposed credentials to deploy applications on the Cloud Foundry instance.
