CVE-2023-20870Known exploitationPublic exploit

Hypervisor memory disclosure via unchecked Bluetooth URB length

Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Feb 4, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in VMware Workstation 17.x and Fusion 13.x allows guest OS users to read privileged hypervisor memory. VUsbBluetooth_OpSubmitUrb accepts an attacker-controlled URB length for an invalid request, and UHCI_UrbResponse returns that many bytes from an uninitialized heap buffer. Local administrative access in a guest OS and enabled host Bluetooth sharing are required; the leak exposes host-process heap data to the guest.
