Buffer overflow in MediaTek MT8673 imgsys allows local users with System privileges to escalate privileges via an out-of-bounds write. The image-processing subsystem copies attacker-influenced input without validating its permitted range, allowing the write to exceed the destination buffer. Exploitation requires System execution privileges and user interaction on Android 11.0 or 12.0, Linux 6.1, IOT-v23.0, or Yocto 4.0.
