Out-of-bounds write in MediaTek GPS software on Android 12.0 and 13.0 allows local users with System privileges to escalate access. The GPS component omits a bounds check before writing attacker-influenced data, permitting memory beyond the intended buffer to be overwritten. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges but no user interaction; the published consequence is local privilege escalation.
