Out-of-bounds write in MediaTek hcp on eight chipsets with Android 12.0 or 13.0 allows local users to gain System privileges. The hcp component omits a bounds check before a write, creating a write-what-where condition beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges but no user interaction, limiting exposure to already highly privileged local code.
