Out-of-bounds write in MediaTek camera middleware on Android 12.0 and 13.0 allows local users to escalate privileges. The middleware performs a write without a required bounds check, allowing memory outside the intended region to be overwritten; MediaTek has not disclosed the affected function or input path. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and is limited to eight listed MediaTek chipsets.
