Local information disclosure via NVRAM bounds-check failure
Published Aug 7, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Improper input validation in MediaTek NVRAM on affected chipsets allows local users with System privileges to disclose information. The NVRAM component writes beyond a buffer because a required bounds check is missing; MediaTek has not disclosed the responsible function or input path. Exploitation requires local System execution privileges and no user interaction, and the published impact is limited to information disclosure despite the out-of-bounds write.
