An out-of-bounds write in MediaTek display software allows local users with System privileges to escalate privileges without interaction. The display component copies input into a buffer without checking its size, allowing a write beyond the destination bounds. Exploitation requires local access and existing System execution privileges; successful corruption elevates privileges on the affected platform.
