Improper input validation in MediaTek APU on Android 12.0 and 13.0 allows local users with System privileges to gain elevated privileges. The APU component omits a bounds check before writing to memory, causing an out-of-bounds write on MT6879, MT6895, MT6983, and MT8195. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges but no user interaction, and successful exploitation elevates local privilege.
