Local information disclosure via missing APU bounds check
Published May 15, 2023 · Updated Jan 24, 2025
Improper input validation in MediaTek APU software for Android 12.0 and 13.0 allows local users to disclose memory contents. The APU component reads beyond a buffer because it fails to verify an input-dependent boundary before accessing memory. A local low-privileged context is sufficient, and exploitation requires no user interaction; the reported consequence is information disclosure only.
