Privilege escalation in MediaTek WLAN on affected chipsets allows local users with System privileges to gain elevated execution. The WLAN component uses an overflowing integer calculation and performs an out-of-bounds write, but MediaTek has not disclosed the operation or input. Exploitation needs no user interaction and affects Android 11.0, 12.0, and 13.0; Yocto 3.1, 3.3, and 4.0; and Linux 4.19 on five listed chipsets.
