Unauthenticated code execution via MIME allowlist override
Published Jun 27, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in WP Experts File Manager Advanced Shortcode 2.3.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute PHP code. The shortcode upload handler trusts the client-controlled upload_allow POST parameter, so changing it to all bypasses the configured MIME allowlist and accepts a PHP file. A page must expose the shortcode with uploads enabled; setting login to no makes the attack unauthenticated, and the uploaded file must be web-accessible for code execution.
