Local information disclosure via unchecked WLAN length
Published Apr 6, 2023 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in MediaTek WLAN software allows local users with System privileges to disclose information without interaction. The WLAN component reads past a buffer boundary because it fails to check the relevant input length before accessing memory. Affected releases are Android 11.0 through 13.0; Yocto 3.1, 3.3, and 4.0; and Linux 4.19 on five listed chipsets, with exploitation requiring existing System privileges.
