CVE-2023-2060Network attack vector

Unauthorized FTP access via weak passwords

Published Jun 2, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Weak password requirements in the FTP function of all RJ71EIP91 and FX5-ENET/IP versions allow remote attackers to access the modules. The FTP function relies on passwords recoverable through dictionary guessing or interception of FTP traffic rather than enforcing resilient credentials. No prior authentication or user interaction is required, but attackers must reach the FTP service or observe its traffic; exploitation exposes FTP-accessible data.
