CVE-2023-20567

Arbitrary code execution via unchecked installer signature

Published Nov 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Improper signature verification in AMD Radeon Windows graphics drivers allows local users with administrator privileges to execute code. AMDSoftwareInstaller.exe launches a supplied file without validating its cryptographic signature, allowing attacker-controlled code to run. Exploitation requires administrator privileges and local access to an affected Windows host, and successful execution uses the installer's security context.
