Privilege escalation in AMD Ryzen processor Platform Initialization firmware allows local users to gain elevated execution through SMM code. AMD has not published the affected SMM function, the missing protection, or the input or state that reaches it. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and can cross the SMM trust boundary, granting control beyond the operating-system security context.
