Kernel code execution via unchecked IOCTL write

Privilege escalation in AMD uProf before 4.1.396 on Windows and before 4.1-424 on Linux allows local users to execute code in the kernel. On Windows, AMDCpuProfiler.sys accepts attacker-controlled IOCTL data without sufficient validation, enabling an arbitrary kernel-memory write; AMD has not published the Linux-specific locus. A low-privileged local account can overwrite an EPROCESS token to obtain SYSTEM privileges or disable driver-signature enforcement and load an unsigned driver.
