CVE-2023-20524

Integrity loss via malformed inter-CPU ASP commands

Published May 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 28, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in AMD Secure Processor firmware on 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD EPYC processors allows attackers to corrupt ASP memory. A compromised ASP sends malformed commands to an ASP on another CPU, whose command handling writes beyond its intended buffer. Exploitation therefore requires control of one processor's ASP and affects integrity on a multiprocessor system; AMD has not disclosed the command format or overwritten data.
