Database read and modification via unsanitized ID
Published Apr 14, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in Advanced Online Voting System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter voting data through the id parameter. The script inserts the POST id value unescaped into SELECT * FROM voters WHERE id = '$id', executes it, and returns the fetched row as JSON. Administrative access is required, and database effects are limited by the application account's privileges.
