Authenticated SQL injection via unvalidated sort parameter
Published Apr 14, 2023 · Updated Feb 6, 2025
SQL injection in Novel-Plus 3.6.2 allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries through the /author/list sort parameter. The author-list handler incorporates the attacker-controlled sort value into SQL query ordering without restricting it to permitted column names. A low-privileged account can read or alter data available to the application's database account and interrupt database-backed functions.
