Wireless service interruption via crafted packet resource exhaustion

Resource exhaustion in Cisco access point software allows physically proximate attackers to interrupt wireless client traffic with crafted packets. The packet-processing path fails to manage resources while handling specific wireless packet sequences, allowing consumption to accumulate. Sustained unauthenticated transmission within wireless range can disrupt the CAPWAP tunnel and cause intermittent loss of client traffic.
