Administrator-level stored XSS via unsanitized setting
Published Jul 10, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Image Protector 1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through an administrative setting. The user-agent-check setting accepts a closing textarea tag and script, stores the value, and returns it to a browser without neutralization. Administrator-level access is required, and exposure occurs when unfiltered_html is disabled, including on multisite installations; the script executes when the injected page is viewed.
