Root file disclosure via insufficient CLI validation
Published Aug 16, 2023 · Updated Jul 3, 2025
Privilege escalation in Cisco ThousandEyes Enterprise Agent virtual appliances 0.216 and earlier allows local users to read arbitrary files as root. The operating system CLI insufficiently validates certain commands before allowing sudo to execute them with root file access. Valid device credentials and local CLI access are required; exploitation exposes arbitrary files but does not grant file modification or service interruption.
