Scanner restart via AutoIt memory-management error
Published Aug 18, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Denial of service in Cisco Secure Endpoint Connector for Windows allows remote attackers to restart its scanning process via crafted AutoIt files. The AutoIt module mishandles memory while parsing an attacker-controlled file; Cisco has disclosed only a memory-management logic error, not the precise operation. The file must reach an affected connector for scanning, and exploitation crashes the ClamAV service, delaying scans until the service restarts.
