Authenticated command execution via crafted HTTP request
Published May 18, 2023 · Updated Oct 28, 2024
Command injection in Cisco Identity Services Engine allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands through its web interface. The management interface insufficiently validates user input in a crafted HTTP request before passing it to operating-system command execution. Administrator-level privileges are required; commands run as the web-services user, and chaining another issue can elevate access to root.
