Browser script execution via insufficient input validation
Published Apr 5, 2023 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Cisco Small Business RV Series router firmware allows remote attackers to execute browser scripts via crafted HTTP requests. The web-based management interface fails to validate untrusted request input before incorporating it into pages, allowing injected script code to run in the interface's browser context. Exploitation requires no authentication but requires a user to visit a page containing the payload, exposing browser-based information and permitting actions in that interface context.
