Cross-site scripting via insufficient HTTP input validation
Published Apr 5, 2023 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Cross-site scripting in all releases of Cisco Small Business RV router firmware allows remote attackers to execute script in its web interface. The web-based management interface fails to validate input in crafted HTTP requests, allowing attacker-controlled payloads to run when rendered in a targeted user's browser. Exploitation is unauthenticated but requires persuading a user to visit a payload-bearing page; successful attacks can alter interface content or read sensitive browser-based information.
