Root command execution via crafted HTTP requests
Published Apr 5, 2023 · Updated Oct 28, 2024
Command injection in Cisco RV016, RV042, RV042G, RV082, RV320, and RV325 router web interfaces allows remote authenticated users to run commands. The interface fails to neutralize command syntax in user-controlled HTTP packet data before command execution. Valid administrative credentials are required, and successful exploitation grants root-level command execution and unauthorized data access.
