CVE-2023-20112

Access-point reload via crafted association request

Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Oct 25, 2024

Buffer over-read in Cisco Aironet Access Point Software allows physically proximate attackers to trigger an access-point reload. Association-request processing insufficiently validates crafted parameters in an 802.11 frame, causing an unexpected device reload. The attacker must be within wireless range of the access point; successful exploitation interrupts wireless service by forcing the affected device to reload.
