Private-key recovery via low-entropy key generation

Insufficient entropy in Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software before 9.12.1 allows unauthenticated remote attackers to recover private keys. The deterministic random bit generator supplies too little entropy when affected ASA 5506-X-family, 5508-X, or 5516-X hardware generates ECDSA or RSA keys, allowing collisions across a large key sample. The condition persists for keys generated on an affected release, and recovered keys enable traffic decryption or device impersonation.
