Poll tally manipulation via non-atomic vote check
Published Jul 4, 2023 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
Race condition in WPMU DEV Forminator before 1.24.1 allows remote attackers to submit multiple votes to a limited poll. The poll-voting path checks whether a visitor has voted and records that state as separate, unsynchronized operations, so concurrent requests pass the same stale check. Exploitation requires a voting limit and concurrent processing; successful requests inflate the stored poll tally without broader data access.
