Authenticated file disclosure via web UI path traversal
Published Mar 23, 2023 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
Path traversal in the web UI of Cisco IOS XE Software allows remote authenticated users to read files via crafted web requests. An insufficient security configuration lets crafted paths escape the web UI filesystem mountpoint and access files in its restricted filesystem. The web UI must be enabled and valid credentials are required; access is read-only, with no ability to modify the exposed files.
