Information disclosure in GRUB for Cisco IOS XR Software allows physically proximate attackers to view sensitive files through the console. Unnecessary commands remain enabled in the GRUB environment and permit file contents to be displayed without authorization. Exploitation requires console-port access during a device power cycle; disclosed files can support additional attacks against the device.
