Root command execution via crafted HTTP requests
Published Jan 19, 2023 · Updated Mar 12, 2025
Command injection in Cisco Small Business RV router firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through the management interface. The affected handler fails to neutralize command syntax in incoming HTTP input before invoking operating-system commands; Cisco has not named the handler. Valid administrative credentials are required, and successful exploitation grants root-level command execution and access to unauthorized data.
