Authenticated database access via unneutralized email parameter
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
SQL injection in SourceCodester Complaint Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter data via email. The POST handler in /users/check_availability.php incorporates the email parameter into a database query without neutralizing SQL syntax, allowing supplied operators to change the query logic. A valid low-privilege session is required, and resulting access remains bounded by the application database account's permissions.
