CVE-2023-1975Network attack vector

Sensitive metadata disclosure via retained image EXIF

Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 7, 2025

Information disclosure in Apache Answer before 1.0.8 allows remote attackers to read EXIF metadata from uploaded site logos. The uploader stores and serves logo image bytes without removing embedded EXIF fields, exposing geolocation, device, and system details. Exposure requires a logo containing EXIF metadata to be uploaded and then retrieved; no data modification or service interruption is reported.
