Cross-site scripting in Hibernate Validator before 6.2.0.Final allows remote attackers to inject browser-rendered HTML via malformed tags. SafeHtmlValidator.isValid accepts malformed markup lacking a less-than character that should delimit a tag, while browsers still render it. Exploitation requires an application to validate attacker-controlled content with SafeHtml and a user to render the resulting page, enabling script execution in that user's browser.
