Subscriber-level cache deletion via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Apr 6, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in WP Fastest Cache 1.1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete generated CSS and JavaScript caches. The deleteCssAndJsCacheToolbar AJAX handler invokes cache deletion without verifying a capability, so subscriber requests reach an operation intended for administrators. Subscriber-level WordPress access is required, and the bounded consequence is removal of generated cache files rather than source content.
