Varnish cache purge via missing nonce validation
Published Apr 6, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in WP Fastest Cache 1.1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to purge Varnish caches through a forged request. The wpfc_purgecache_varnish_callback function accepts a cache-purge request without correctly validating a WordPress nonce before invoking the Varnish purge path. Exploitation requires an authenticated site administrator to follow or load attacker-controlled content, and the resulting cache purge can degrade site performance.
