Authenticated template-cache flushing via insufficient capability check
Published Jun 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Improper authorization in Getwid – Gutenberg Blocks 1.8.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to flush its template cache. The get_remote_templates REST endpoint accepts subscriber-level requests because its permission check does not require a capability sufficient to manage the cache. Exploitation requires a WordPress account with Subscriber access and alters only the remotely sourced template cache; disclosed template data is public.
