Reflected XSS via unescaped Metrics period parameter
Published Apr 5, 2023 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Reflected XSS in Sidekiq Web 7.0.4 through 7.0.7 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser via a crafted Metrics URL. The /metrics and /metrics/:name routes assign the period query parameter to @period and render it without HTML escaping. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted URL while Sidekiq Web is reachable, allowing script to act in that browser's Sidekiq Web origin.
