Stored XSS via inline raw XML rendering
Published May 3, 2023 · Updated Jan 29, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in GitLab 5.1 through 15.9.5, 15.10 through 15.10.4, and 15.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script. The raw-file response serves attacker-authored XML inline as plain text, and iOS WebKit honors its XHTML declaration and renders active content. The attacker must publish the XML and persuade an iOS user to open its raw URL; ineffective CSP permits same-origin script execution, while GitLab.com's CSP limits the demonstrated impact to content injection, redirects, and phishing.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
