Administrator-session script execution via unescaped message parameter
Published May 8, 2023 · Updated May 5, 2025
Reflected XSS in WP Inventory Manager before 2.1.0.12 allows remote attackers to execute script in administrators' browsers via crafted URLs. A page containing the wpinventory shortcode copies the message query parameter into its response without sanitization or output escaping. An administrator must open the attacker-supplied URL; the resulting script runs in the site's origin and can read or modify data available to that session.
