Registry credential disclosure via failed HTTPS fallback
Published Apr 6, 2023 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Cleartext credential transmission in Docker Desktop 4.17.x allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read registry credentials over HTTP. The Artifactory Integration retries a failed HTTPS health check as a plain HTTP ping while retaining the Basic Authorization header. Exposure requires Access Experimental Features, a private-registry login, an HTTPS check failure, and a network position able to observe the request.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
