Cross-device alarm disclosure via unbound bearer tokens
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Improper input validation in Nexx Smart Home device firmware allows remote authenticated users to read other devices' alarm data over WebSockets. The WebSocket association handler accepts an Authorization bearer token without verifying that the token belongs to the device being associated. Any valid Nexx account token can expose alarm information and signals intended for other devices, including a deviceId.
